Yes, I am still alive :)
I've had a few people calling or email me asking me why I haven't posted for a while, so I thought I should update everyone on what's been happening. (It's nice to know people care :)
Matthew and I have just recently started a new business.... Shadowplay Photography and Video, it's a boutique wedding photography and video studio. The Shadowplay Photography and Video website is: www.shadowplay.com.au - make sure you check it out and leave a few comments on the blog.
That's my excuse for being rather slack in updating the Katie Finn Photography blog. Sorry to those who have been checking my blog regularly only to be disappointed that I haven't updated it.
Katie Finn Photography is still going strong and I am planning to keep growing the business. The launch of Shadowplay Photography and Video won't effect Katie Finn Photography at all - it just means I'll occasionally be shooting people above 5 years old now :)
Thanks again to those who have been keeping tabs on me - I will be launching a new Katie Finn Photography blog in the next few weeks. I'm really really really excited about getting a new blog up and going - so make sure you check back soon to see if it's up!
(P.S. Matt said to add a photo to make this post more interesting .... so here's a photo of a pelican I took recently at the Sunshine Coast!)

Congratulations Hollie and Matt!
Hollie recently came in with husband Matt to get some maternity shots done (you can see them HERE), they then returned a few weeks later with little Ava - and I must say... she is pretty gorgeous!
Here are some of my favourite shots. I can't believe how strong her neck is for such a little bub.

Some people have noticed that my blog has slowed down a bit lately. Part of the reason is because I have been editing 90 'kindy kid' photos!
I can't believe a year has passed already since I last went out to Highfields and District Kindergarten.
Thanks again to the teachers for being some lovely and helpful. I had heaps of fun photographing all the kids.
There were some familiar faces in the Possum and Wombat groups...
My gorgeous boys... Sam (you can see his family photos HERE) and Jack (you can see his family photos HERE) who both have had family photo sessions with me. They are both as cute (and polite) as ever!
And of course - Their teachers...

This funky little beanie has lost it's owner and has been sitting on my desk for a while...
Just wondering if anyone wants to claim it :)
Brand: Pumpkin Patch
If it's yours - give me a call or shoot me an email..... before he/she grows out of it.
UPDATE: The beanie has now been claimed!

Matt (my gorgeous husband) recently bought me a Shootsac as a gift.
I loved my Shootsac so much that we made a little promo video for it … just for fun! We sent it to Jessica and yesterday she featured it on her website! How exciting!! Thanks Jessica!
Here’s the link to it on Jessica’s site - http://jessicaclaire.net/ and here’s the video if you want to watch it here:Katie - Shootsac Promo - HD from Matt E on Vimeo.

Rosie missed out on getting maternity shots done first time around because Matilda (their first born) decided to arrive early. This time around, Rosie made sure she didn't miss out and came in for her maternity shoot early :)
Here are some shots from her shoot:

Congratulations to Phil and Jess!
I can't wait to meet little Caitlyn Georgia!
It's been an exciting year for the Garratt family with brothers Phil and Pete both becoming proud Dads. Phil and Jess the proud parents of Caitlyn (stay tuned for some photos) and Pete and Jess the proud parents of Malachi (check out the photos here). * Please note that I didn't make a mistake - both Phil and Pete married a Jess each :)
Here are some of my favourite shots from Phil and Jess' location maternity shoot:

Bryn is now a big sister! Mum, Dad, Bryn and baby Sophia made the trip up from the Gold Coast to get Sophia's newborn shots done.
While Sophia was being fed and getting ready for her photo session, I had fun photographing little Bryn outside in the alley way.
I promised Mum I would send through a sneak peek, so here they are.
I will post some photos of baby Sophia in the next few days :)

My cousin Lauren gave birth to Libby Grace in May earlier this year (you can view the photos here). Libby is now 9 weeks old.
At 4 weeks Lauren rang and told me that Libby was starting to smile. I thought these smiles may have been 'wind' smiles - but I was wrong! This photo is of Libby at 8 weeks... I took it when they came up to visit last week. I can't believe it! What a smile! It's unbelievable. I have never come across a baby who has smiled and gigged so early. It's really great :)

I get emails from many of my clients - just keeping in touch and sending through photo updates... but when Erica (mother of Ellie and Luka) sent me through this... it was too good not to share :)
JACK (age 3) was watching his Mom breast-feeding his new baby sister. After a while he asked: 'Mom why have you got two? Is one for hot and one for cold milk?'
MELANIE (age 5) asked her Granny how old she was. Granny replied she was so old she didn't remember any more. Melanie said, 'If you don't remember you must look in the back of your panties. Mine say five to six.'
STEVEN (age 3) hugged and kissed his Mom good night. 'I love you so much that when you die I'm going to bury you outside my bedroom window.'
BRITTANY (age 4) had an earache and wanted a pain killer. She tried in vain to take the lid off the bottle. Seeing her frustration, her Mom explained it was a child-proof cap and she'd have to open it for her. Eyes wide with wonder, the little girl asked: 'How does it know it's me?'
SUSAN (age 4) was drinking juice when she got the hiccups. 'Please don't give me this juice again,' she said, 'It makes my teeth cough.'
DJ (age 4 ) stepped onto the bathroom scale and asked: 'How much do I cost?'
MARC (age 4) was engrossed in a young couple that were hugging and kissing in a restaurant. Without taking his eyes off them, he asked his dad: 'Why is he whispering in her mouth?'
CLINTON (age 5) was in his bedroom looking worried. When his Mom asked what was troubling him, he replied, 'I don't know what well happen with this bed when I get married. How will my wife fit in?'
JAMES (age 4) was listening to a Bible story. His dad read: 'The man named Lot was warned to take his wife and flee out of the city but his wife looked back and was turned to salt .' Concerned, James asked: 'What happened to the flea?'
TAMMY (age 4) was with her mother when they met an elderly, rather wrinkled woman her Mom knew. Tammy looked at her for a while and then asked, 'Why doesn't your skin fit your face?'
The Sermon I think this Mom will never forget.... this particular Sunday sermon...'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust...' He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

Shannon (below) is my cousin Dave's 'little man'. He was born on March 4 (which is my Mum's birthday). As I mentioned in an earlier post (HERE) - Shannon had a bit of a rough start to life, having to have open heart surgery before he was even a week old.
Shannon is now doing really well. He is a happy little boy with a great smile :)
I will be photographing Shannon next week, and this reminded me that I never posted his newborn shots... so here they are!

Sarah came in yesterday morning with husband Nathan and their daugther Zoe to get some maternity photos done.
The last thing Sarah said to me as she walked out the door was 'Well, that's good... I can have the baby now...'.
Last night I got the following text message: "It's a girl! At 8.12pm we welcomed our little baby, Ikaia Hope Wessling into the world & into our family."
Lucky we got the photos done in time! I can't wait to meet little Ikaia :)
